Intermediate and Middle School at Northeast Christian Academy includes 5th Grade through 8th Grade. It is an important time of major transition from the older child to the young adult, so NCA structures the classes accordingly. The curriculum structure and grading policy in 5th Grade and 6th Grade resemble that of the Elementary School, but the students learn self-management by having lockers and moving between classes and instructors. In 7th Grade and 8th Grade, the students are able to choose electives, and they take comprehensive semester exams.
NCA desires to use the energy and exuberance of the Middle Schooler to develop a student who is a self-learner and who is learning to think critically. Unique elements in the Middle School curriculum such as Introductory Old and New Testament Surveys in 5th through 8th Grade, Latin in 5th, 6th, and 7th Grade, and Informal Logic in 8th Grade contribute toward developing students' analytical abilities so that they might better know God as the rational Being that He is.
